Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Are your Firearms Instructor state certified?
A. Absolutely! Our Firearms Instructors are all State of Illinois recognized firearms instructors. In addition, our firearms instructors come from a law enforcement background, and have provided instruction to police cadets in academies in the State of Illinois, as well as instruction for private security and investigative professionals. There will never, ever be a concern about any course you take with Fidelity Academy, as all of our instructors are top-level certified in their fields.
Q. Will I be able ask the instructor questions during the class?
A. Yes. It is your class, your money, and your opportunity to learn as much as possible. In addition, the instructor will provide you with a wealth of information during the course that is yours to keep.
Q. I saw another class offering a "Chicago Firearm Permit" course for $ 150.00. Why is your course so low in cost?
A. Why shouldn't it be? The course should be available to as many people who want to take it. By charging higher prices, many Chicagoans on a low or fixed income would not be able to take the course. We can provide the course at a lower price because it is one of many courses of instruction that we provide, and not the only course we provide. Beware of so-called "all-in-one package" programs, which add additional costs that you may not need, and will not reduce the cost for expenses you may not need.
Q. What is the advantage to taking the course with you?
A. Other than saving money? We are a training academy for private security and investigative professionals, and provide firearms training for them, along with training in other law enforcement equipment. We are more than just a single firearms instructor and a range. We have been providing training services for many years. All of our courses are backed by the full staff of Fidelity, a State of Illinois licensed academy, fully insured, and a registered federal government contractor. Can the "other guy" say that? (No, he can't) Our "Chicago Firearms Permit Course" was featured by the local television news teams and newspapers, as the first and best program available.
Q. Are there other courses that you offer that I might be interested in?
A. Yes, we offer many other courses, and you can review them as you register for this course. We offer many defensive solutions and also, in cooperation with BOSEN Chicago, we provide access to several different martial arts traditions, involving very effective systems in use by law enforcement officers today.
Q. Doesn't every other "security school" provide these services?
A. No. We are unique because of our specialized training areas, training equipment, classrooms, and highly specialized advanced courses that aren't provided by our competitors. Our instructors are certified trainers in advanced law enforcement tools and techniques. Graduates from our security training programs are highly sought after, and several businesses contact us for our graduates.
